van Heyningen and Haward developed a masterplan that includes an analysis of both the existing building stock and the land available to Alleyn’s School, providing a Development Framework for the next 15 - 20 years.
The Edward Alleyn Building includes a 350 seat theatre designed with excellent acoustic qualities and sightlines to the stage, teaching facilities and a studio theatre for use by the National Youth Theatre. A new terrace opens off the foyer, allowing views over the playing fields. A double quad between the new and existing school buildings creates a new heart for the school community, both physically and socially.
